Täby Town Hall

Located in the middle of the town center, the new town hall interconnects the library, church, aquatic center and senior high school.

The Project:

The new Täby Town Hall includes office space and public areas.

The new building has a distinct entrance from the square, an invitation for meetings and discussions. It will be a place for all citizens, offering opportunities for inspiration, development and collaboration.

The focus was on creating a flexible and robust building that can be used in many different ways. The ground floor’s open plan is ideal for exhibitions, markets and debates. The building contains a conference facility, several large project rooms and a media room. Characterized by its openness, it is a workplace for a fairly large number of people. The building will also function as an operations center in the event of a crisis.

Briab’s job:

Briab was involved from project planning to completion; it conducted inspections and is involved in coordinated testing. The job concerned fire-technical engineering over six storeys, plus two storeys underneath, for garage and technical installations. The building’s operations are oriented around a completely open atrium. Fire gas ventilation and evacuation have been dimensioned analytically, to optimize number of people and flexibility in the building’s various operations. The building’s structure was calculated using a natural fire development, where installed sprinklers enabled a reduction in costs. The project was commenced in 2011 and completed in 2017.
