Alder acquires majority share in Briab Group AB

“For some time, we have planned for the next stage in Briab’s development. Since Briab was founded in 2002, we have grown the business from six fire protection consultants who wanted to achieve more, to a leading fire and risk management expert with more than 110 employees at eight offices around the country. With Alder as a partner and principal owner, we can proudly hand over the management of the company, and together develop it, ensuring safer and more sustainable urban planning”, says Fredrik Hiort, Senior Partner Briab.

A crucial part of the sale was Alder’s clear focus on sustainable development as a driver for growth in the companies it manages and owns. In 2019 and 2020, Alder received the highest score in the UN-supported PRI’s evaluation of responsible investments.

Going from pure fire protection consultancy to leading risk management company presents exciting and extensive opportunities. Briab currently consists of three complementary business areas. Services offer consultancy and expertise in fire and risk. Products & Solutions provides system solutions and expertise in evacuation, and Software, which developed and launched Bimfire Suite, the market’s first digital platform for fire protection, spans from design to management.
