Digitalization is transforming the construction industry globally and is challenging traditional workflows and business models. Fire safety as a small but horizontal discipline has so far been standing at the sidelines but digitalization of fire safety is picking up the pace to meet the needs of regulators and clients. The increased use of BIM and need to secure fire safety from a life cycle perspective creates new challenges for the traditional business models within the fire safety industry.

The webinar will discuss a variety of topics, some among others are; the UK proposal to regulate fire safety and require BIM and other measures to secure the golden thread of information. From the international perspective, differences in regulatory systems will be examined in relation to digitalization, e.g. prescriptive regulations, performance-based approaches and the digital evolution of code-compliance. In the project, a compliance model is developed and tested using the Briab Bimfire Suite platform in two ongoing construction projects.

The webinar features a Q&A at the end, don’t miss the chance to join the discussion.

Hosting the webinar is the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), a professional society representing those practicing the field of fire protection engineering. The Society has over 4,600 members and 101 chapters, including 21 student chapters worldwide. The purpose of SFPE is to advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, to maintain a high ethical standard among its members and to foster fire protection engineering education.
